A random meeting between two combat personalities almost ended up in a full-blown confrontation behind the scenes of the boxing super fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor last Saturday. Not long after the duel, Nate Diaz and Brendan Schaub met backstage and began to argue about the outcome of the fight.
The video of the incident that was posted on the internet (see below or click here) begins by showing the two just disagreeing with each other’s scoring. While Nate Diaz claims that Mayweather “didn’t even try” to dominate McGregor during the earlier rounds, Schaub says that he is sure that McGregor has won at least the first four rounds.
Diaz then goes so far as to say that the former UFC heavyweight has little knowledge about boxing, and then Schaub responds with something inaudible. It’s enough for the lightweight fighter to curse at his former UFC colleague, though, and to promptly throw the middle finger towards him while the fighter-turned-commentator leaves the scene.
It is worth remembering that Nate Diaz has a rather long history with Conor McGregor. The two faced each other twice in the UFC with one victory on each fighter’s resume.
